Angry Ingame Store - Aussie question

The search function isn't working for me at the moment (no matter what I search for it comes up with no results and I tried searching for common terms like yes or no or warrior) so I apologise if I'm asking this in the wrong area or there's already a thread about it. Plus I went through about 22 pages of the Q&A forum. Anyhoo, here's the sitch:

I want to buy a character slot from the ingame store.

I live in Australia so my copies of the game are European (that's what were officially imported). The game wasn't released here when it was released everywhere else, so many people bought the US versions from overseas and had them shipped in. I waited and thus have the EU keys.

Despite this I choose to play on the American servers on each of my 3 accounts. This is because it's a lot less laggy and the time zones work better for me, plus I have US and Canadian friends that I play with every day.

The credit card that is paying for these character slots is American (my boyfriend is from Cali).

When I go into the store it's charging me ??5.99 for each slot which is over US$11. And I know $1 or $2 doesn't seem like much but if I buy 6 slots I could have pretty much gotten one of them for free! We already don't get our own servers and now they're giving us even fewer options.

Anyway, I was just wondering if there was some option in your PlayNC account to switch which currency you pay with.

As I understand it from some previous threads I've read, Australia's support and store for GW goes through an EU based company, hence why everything's in pounds (you can't even get it *displayed* in Australian dollars).

As far as I know, there's no way to change this to pay through the American based company. :/

Yes, we all love the joys of money exchange differences...

We don't even get our own district. GW hates Aussies.

I hate playing with 250+ ping but it's either that or not being able to understand the people on the server.

If you have a US cd-key from importing the game is the store in pounds or USD? Or is it set to which district your address is set as?

If there WAS an Australian server, I'd still be in the American one. I can't imagine an Aussie server having many players, honestly... and most of my online buddies are American, anyway.

I can't answer your question, sorry. :/ I bought my game in Australia via a standard over the counter transaction.

I see that as a good thing . Remember when Korea had favor about the same amount of time as Europe and America? Anet adds the Taiwan and Japan districts and people say 'There's a WHAT district?'

It's nice to have favor almost all the day. Aussies take it in the day and the Europeans do the night shift
